Site Visit

June 24, 2010

Oliver Sheridan at Teagasc and Dr. Elaine O Connor of University College Cork have kindly donated 15 birch trees to the project. The saplings are a mix of Silver Birch Betula Pendula and Downy Birch Betula Pubescens. The saplings are being stored in a greenhouse at Teagasc’s research centre in Kinsealy until the courtyard is ready for planting.

Break Ground

June 12, 2010

Saturday 12th June

A team of volunteers began work on site, lifting slabs and cutting down the conifer tree. The areas where slabs have been lifted will be excavated to form new planting beds and foundations for the timber roof structures.

Helen, Laura, Micheal & David prepare the site for groundworks in the coming weeks.
